OVERVIEW

The Pinball Pro Championship (PPC) is an IFPA sanctioned event. The tournament pays homage to the old PAPA World Pinball Championship and current INDISC Open Championship format. It is a card based style tournament that will bring out the very best players to compete for the chance to be the champion of the event.

Changes for 2024

  • Best Card Championship is now a side tournament that can be purchased separately online or at the show for $125 if not sold out in the Hardcore Bundle package.
  • The event is now an unlimited entry event, competitors will be given 4 cards with their registration, any extra cards can be purchased for $50 a card.
  • Novice division is now added for even more enjoyment and participation of the event.
  • The tournament will be using a unlimited entry PAPA (5) machine card style using PAPA position/rank scoring (1st 200, 2nd 195, 3rd 190, 189, 188, 187…) for each machine.
  • There will be 12 machines to choose from: (4) New: 2004 – Present, (4) Mid: 1992 – 2003 (4) Old 1978 – 1991

Entry Fees

  • Each registered player will receive 4 cards in which they can play throughout the qualification hours.
  • A player also has the ability purchase an unlimited amount best card entries up and to the qualification period.
  • This tournament will be hard capped at 160 competitors.
  • All tournament entries are non-refundable, play at your own risk, unused entries are the responsibility of the competitor.

Playoffs Information

  • Top 24 scores will qualify for main draw playoffs. See detailed rules for tiebreaker.
  • Finals start at 4:00 PM on Sunday. 
  • Each elimination round will be a three game Professional & Amateur Pinball Association (PAPA) four player format (4,2,1,0 scoring) knockout round with two players
  • **NEW** Highest seeded players get the choice of machine or position. Once a group chooses a machine, no other group can pick it. Once the player chooses a machine their group will play the next two after the pick, if there is a tiebreaker they play the next machine after the last one they played. (ie# Player picks #2 machine, then #3, #4 are automatically played, tiebreaker happens on #5).
  • **NEW** Positions are not chosen again after each machine your position is locked for all games within that round.
  • **NEW** A player cannot pick the same machine twice including the two machines that were picked for them. In other words if you choose the bank you will not be able to pick any of the machines that were in the group you selected. Please note the tiebreaker game if necessary can still be picked in a future round.

General Rules

Best Card Championship machines will only be available to tournament participants from Thursday – Sunday.

  • Machine list to be updated closer to the event.
  • All rules, malfunctions and rules, machine settings and player conduct to be based on PAPA rules.
  • Extra Balls will be Turned Off or a sign posted to Play Extra Balls on Particular games if needed.

  • If there is a malfunction, the tournament director reserves the right to include a machine from the proper era from the YEGPIN Match Play or Knockout Cancer Pinball tournament or Free Play area to fill in the banks for playoffs.

Prize Pools

  • **NEW** Prizes will be awarded to all of the playoff qualifiers, based on the amount of the prize pool collected, the percentages are below.
  • **NEW** 1st in each division will receive a YEGPIN custom trophy, 2nd, 3rd, 4th places will also receive a customized plaques.

*If there is a conflict with a person that is playing in the Women’s Match Play playoffs then we will delay until they are ready to play.
